Tergitol L-61 is a highly efficient nonionic surfactant that serves as an excellent foam control agent due to its low foam characteristics. It exhibits inverse water solubility, high thermal and chemical stability, and provides good steric stabilization. This versatile surfactant finds applications in various foam control processes, including the fermentation of monosodium glutamate, lactic and citric acids, food processing, food washing, water treatment, and metal working products. Its low surface tension makes it particularly effective as a rinse aid and low foam wetting agent in auto dish detergents, industrial and institutional cleaning, and cleaning-in-place (CIP) applications such as food, dairy, and brewery cleaning. Additionally, Tergitol L-61 can be utilized in oilfield drilling and production formulations.
