Lemon trees were originally native to Asia and were used by the ancient Indians, Egyptians and Romans. Lemon trees are thought to have been brought to Europe during the Middle Ages approximately around 200 A.D. and then eventually made their way from the Middle East to North Africa; and later, Christopher Columbus would introduce them to America. Lemon Oil is extracted from fresh lemon fruit peels by cold expression. Nearly 1,000 lemons are needed to produce 1 lb. (around 454g) of Lemon Oil.
